New SEA EAGLE, 7 man inflatable was donated to SEA RAVEN FOUNDATION

YES, SEA RAVEN NOW HAS A SEA EAGLE: That’s right, on Sept 28, 2017, the Sea Raven Foundation received its first major donation. An anonymous donor presented the foundation with $2700 needed to purchase a 7 man, 14 ft inflatable hard floor dinghy from SEA, which will be used to ferry passengers and trainees to the shore and back when SEA RAVEN is anchored out during cruises.

SEA RAVEN FOUNDATION was formed to receive donations from those who wish to support traditional sail training aboard Schooner SEA RAVEN. This was also necessary because SEA RAVEN operates as a Non-Profit Coastwise Passenger Vessel, with the proceeds all accruing to a Public Benefit Foundation under Federal Internal Revenue Code section 501 (c) (3), and California Revenue and Taxation Code section 23701d

This allows any donations given to SEA RAVEN FOUNDATION for support of the charitable and public service work of Traditional Sail Training work the SEA RAVEN accomplishes  to be tax deductible, because the Foundation is run in strict accord with these two governing laws.
